So when it came time to climb again, it was bad.
I was assigned Sherpa Peak, which is in between Mt. Stuart, and Argonaut Peak. The approach is long, and ‘schwacky. Ugh.
For some reason, we made an aggressive schedule for the approach. Looking back this was a poor choice… but anywho, we got to the trailhead at 2:30 and got going. At 4pm, we made it to Long’s Pass, and then we descended into the mess below, and tried to make it back up to the bivy site on Argonaut, at 7400’

We stopped for water at around 5p

At 7pm, we were at 5900′ and I knew I wasn’t going to make it to camp before dark. We made the call to descend back into the forest, to some known campsites…

We had to descend the climbers trail we just came up… sigh

At least camp was nice. The duo next to us had nabbed the primo spot, with benches and a nice firepit

The next morning, we hiked out

…and made it back to Seattle by noon

Which was actually pretty nice, cuz I was able to do my laundry, got groceries for the week and just took care of a lot of things!
