At the start of 2019, I got a new project at work, and it involved a somewhat unexpected trip to Tokyo. We stayed in Nishi-Shinjuku, at the Hilton, which I had not stayed in since 2015. I’m a big fan of this hotel because of the city views it provides, and this time, I lucked out with my room and view.
I spent most of the trip commuting between the office and the hotel, and working from the hotel in the evenings… so here’s a little study on the view from room 3219.
The first night, as usual, was pretty rough with jetlag. I woke up around 3am and just worked.
Not many locals were in the office on a Monday at 4am…
The sunrise was pretty lit tho.
Morning light hitting the Shinjuku I-land Tower
A glowing Shinjuku Mitsui Building
Tuesday evening. Folks were definitely workin’ late.
Wednesday. Taken with a foggy window…
One of the few non-hotel photos… Here’s the Azusa Express from Shinjuku to Tachikawa.
On Saturday, I had a few hours to kill before checkout. It was also a bluebird day.
I could stare at these lines all day…
Shinjuku Sompo Building, my fav skyscraper here, and Shinjuku Center Building
I had one errand to run; before check-out
I made my way over to Map Camera, I had never noticed this view of the Sompo Building
Anyways, I picked up a used 12-24mm lens, and made my way back
Look how wiiiiiiiiide it is! After this, I checked out, and moved to the Shinjuku Gracery, to start a short Tokyo staycation!
