The next day, most of us slept in. We moseyed around camp, and got going around 9am to bag Del Campo peak. Here’s the view we had from camp, the route from camp was an uphill Z-shaped path that headed up a few gullies.

Sean was out of camp first, but passed most of us I think…

From the base of Del Campo, we located the notch that was the start of the scramble up to the summit. Here we are, after the first pitch of scramblin. The climbing was spicy, the views were ???, the temps were blazing…

We then proceeded up the second half of the climb to the summit, and we all made short work of it! Liz’s clothing is like camouflage on these rocks

We all made it down safely, and just in time for the sun to turn up the heat…! It was a brutally hot descent back to the cars. I bonked a bit on the way, but some clif bars helped out. I need to work on my breakfast planning…
