Cathay had started direct flights in March of this year, using an A350 on the route. It was a redeye out of SEA, which got you into HKG early in the morning. I was pretty pumped to see what their A350’s were like, after my previous experience on their 777W and also having worked with them a few years back!

They’re using a newer/customized Zodiac/Safran seat, similar to the ones I flew on my recent AA flight…

One big difference though, was this stowage compartment! It was definitely a nice thing to have during the flight

The A-Team has always has better curtain tracks than the B-Team…

We took off, and they served a light meal before lights out. I should’ve just gone straight to sleep, but I can’t help myself when I fly…

Some custard with sponge cake, and some fruit stuff. Delish.

I passed out soon after, and woke up for breakfast. Congee, tea, a smoothie, a few dumplings, and fruit!

We landed, and I used my Emerald status to get into The Wing. It’s getting a little dated, but still lovely.

I took a shower. They have one of the better shower suites in the world.

Then it was off to the dining area. I was seated quickly and had a hard time deciding what I wanted for breakfast #2…

Some buns, rice, and dumplings, milk tea, and mango juice

The outside grab-and-go dining area was pretty empty at 6am-ish

One would think that after so many years of business travel, I’d know my way around a bar, and what cocktails to order, but I do not. I think I admire the interior designs and displays more than the drinks themselves…

HKG is a lovely place to wait for a flight

When it was time to board, I went to the gate, which overlooked a dumpster. I wonder what the story behind the Doraemon suitcase was 🙁

I love the landscapes around HK

Breakfast #3. Not pictured is the British breakfast I ordered…

An hour or so later, we were at BKK! I hope I can fly on one of these soon!
