AA49

The next morning, we woke up, waited for a bakery to open, got food, and got to the airport. A&L were on a Thomas Cook from CDG to the UK to SEA. I booked AA48 from CDG to DFW, then back up to SEA.

The terminals at CDG are messy, so we got dropped off where TCX was, and I took a shuttle to the OneWorld terminal. There were some good views as we passed by AF’s terminal.

We got really close to this 300ER…

…which brought back memories of my first galley program at work. Here’s a shot of one our AF deliveries back in the day

It was a double delivery with KLM~

So I checked in, and made my way back to their terminal, killed a bit of time, said goodbye, etc. Once that had occurred, I made my way back to the CX Lounge to eat a bit.

I usually like lounge art, and this kind of reminds me of promo material for Wonder Woman 1984. Yes, I’m writing this in 2020, but backdating the post to around when this all happened…

So the thing I was kind of looking forward to was checking out the Zodiac/Safran Cirrus product… The press loves to hate on it, but I don’t quite follow. It’s perfectly fine.

AA paid for that mood lighting, and is using it. Nice.

Views from the windows

The flight was fine. AA has mediocre food, but good IFE, and good Casper blankets for when it was time to sleep. We landed on time, and I got through immigrations without much fuss.

I made my way to the AA Flagship lounge since I still had OneWorld Emerald status… I usually use the AMEX lounge, but I decided to check this out, and I’m glad I did. The food was excellent, and there was plenty of space. I look forward to using it more in the future. I also dig their lighting fixtures!

And also their views of the tarmac

The shower suites were clean and spacious

After a handful of hours (it was a long layover)… I boarded my flight and was on my way home.

Overall, it was a wonderful trip. There were moments of absolute magic, stretches of stress and frustration, but I learned a lot, and it just makes me want to go back to bag more objectives in the future!
