Pigne de la Lé

So we woke up at a decent hour and made our way up to the base of the climb. The Belgian team started earlier to get out of the hostel after the uproar from the previous night.

We spoke a bit, and they said they were gonna practice simul-climbing, so we decided to hang out for a while.

Not gonna lie, the whole bailing on the Haute Route was still making things awkward… but I was pretty pumped for this little scramble, cuz the Haute Route was more of a walk, and this got us onto a peak.

After we saw the Belgians get about halfway up, we started scrambling up

Still angry

enhance!

and more!

👿

Then we all got over it, I think. Sort of? Maybe not yet. haha

At the summit!

So I had hiked to the hut towards the left side of this photo during the alps trip from 2-years ago!

We hung out at the top, ate lunch, and then we started to head down.

The first part was just getting across a ton of scree

Then we got to the glacier and roped up.

They led the way down. We were contemplating staying another night at the hut, then going to Zermatt as scheduled… but by chance, we ran into the Belgians during a water break.

They said they were heading back to town, and offered to give us a ride to the train station. We looked at the train schedule, and we could still get to Zermatt that day. Then we checked Airbnb and found a cheap place in Zermatt for the night, so we agreed to their really really kind offer!

MOO!

The lovely van that took us back to town. The group was actually part of a sort-of guided trip by this group. They were really lovely folks, so if you’re ever looking for a guide, maybe send them a note!

The train station vending machines sell pocket sized maybe baby test kits, lol. ALSO, CAPRI SUN!
