Calanque d’En-Vau – La Saphir

So after our siesta, it started to get super warm in the sun. We had the option to hike up and back to town, or climb out of the cove via La Saphir, and then head to town. I honestly wanted to hike out, but Keith’s stoke meter was still at 110%, so we climbed.

I think Stephen was also tied… here he is topping out of P1

What a cute moment 😉

By now, the cove was packed with dayhikers and folks heading in from the sea

I do wish we kayaked into the cove…

This climb is only rated at 5.8, but this was back in 1939, and SUPER polished. There was some hard moves scattered throughout what was kind of a scramble up the arête.

Probably my favorite shot from this climb

HAND JAM TIME!

At the top!

One more shot hiking out

A neat rock

So, it was boiling hot by this point… and we all kind of ran out of water I think? We eventually made it back to town, and we stopped at the first bar we came across. We demolished some drinks, and a few smoothies, ate dinner and went back to our Airbnb

and immediately crashed.
