Zinal

On the third day, we departed for Zinal!

Sunrise was pretty spectacular! Here’s first light hit the Ober Gabelhorn!

Remember the alien planet like vibe from the day before? Well, the clouds had cleared over night, revealing the magnificent amphitheater that consists of:

  • Zinalrothorn
  • Ober Gabelhorn
  • Trifthorn
  • Mont Durand
  • Pointe de Zinal
  • Dent Blanche
  • Grand Cornier
  • Those glaciers? well those are the Grand Cornier, Durand and the Mountet… All tumbling down, to join and form the Zinal Glacier

What a view, right?! Also, the hut… it’s used at a starting point for the ascents of the peaks listed above. The hut was originally built in 1887!!! but has been modified and rebuilt a number of times (with the latest modification being in 1996). It can house 115 people.

Right???

On our way out! over the boulders and boulders we go!

That glacier…

Donno what was more annoying, the uphill, or the downhill…

I still can’t get over the views on a clear day!

After a few hours, we made it back!

One last view…
