This past Saturday, a few students and instructors ventured off the Tatoosh Range, to tackle The Castle, and Pinnacle. The forecast was for partly cloudy skies, turning to afternoon sun! The stoke was high!
We parked at Narada Falls’ parking lot, climbed to ridge to the closed road, and ventured off towards Reflection Lake. Once there, we headed south, towards The Castle. The snow was crusty, and it was surprisingly warm. Everyone stopped to shed some layers.
Of course, immediately after doing this, some clouds moved in…
As we hiked up, it got a bit crappier, but we were close to the summit block
Chase led his first alpine climb and setup a top rope
We cycled everyone through at a leisurely pace
After Ryan climbed up, I went up to clean the summit…
Jason was manning the rappel station
BEHOLD! PINNACLE! IN ALL OF ITS GLORY!!!
Ryan heading down! I rappelled after, and Jason cleaned the rappel station.
Then we went around to the Pinnacle and Castle saddle to descend
We thought about bagging Pinnacle, but we were running out of time, and there were pizzas waiting to be made and eatenĀ at the cabin…
