Lillooet

Last weekend was the annual BoeAlps waterfall ice climbing clinic. We all piled into Subaru wagons, or vans, and drove north, to very cold Lillooet, BC!

There were two days of climbing planned. The first morning was spent at The Rambles Center (WI3). We got to the ice at the same time as a French duo who were out to climb all three pitches, and more. We just spent time on the first two.

We spent our afternoon at an area to the left of our morning spot. The ice was a bit easier (WI1 and WI2)

The second day, we drove to Crown Lake in the morning. Our car’s thermometer read 1-deg F.

The objective was Deeping Wall (WI4/WI5). Apparently it’s a thin year, but the folks in charge set up three lines.

^check out that column of frozen ice coming out of that cave-y section!

You could walk into that cave; for some sweet views
