The weather has been incredible lately, so that called for an outing. We decided to bag Mt. Dickerman, which I had last hiked 2.5-years ago. However this time, a recent storm transformed it into a wonderland. The trail is located off of Mountain Loop Highway, and the trail approaches the summit from the south.
When looking south, one is greeted with views of ALL OF THE PEAKS!!!
^I think that’s Sperry Peak on the left third of the pano!
A pano from the increasingly trusty RX100Mk2. Also, Mt. Rainier is hiding over the peaks on the right hand side of the pano!
^If you look carefully, you can see Mt Rainier trying to hide in the background (on the right hand side of the photo)!
At the summit!
^the RX100 has been providing some telephoto range to my setup… not bad, right?! the next photo is from the longer end of its zoom range
Another group and us had the obligatory, “hey y’all, could you please take a photo of us?” moment.
The gray jays were begging for food and attention…
We puttered around the area for a while. Here’s a view looking back at the summit.
Now with humans! (for scale)… and a view of the Olympics to the left!
…now to get into better shape for more winter outings.
