BA 48/49

I love flying. I can’t state that enough. I don’t mind layovers because I also love airports. BA’s SEA->LHR route takes you over the northern parts of Canada, Greenland, Iceland, then back to London. This recent trip brought me to Germany and the Czech Republic for the first times, but those details can wait.

Let’s talk airplanes! BA operates the 744 on this route:

I am actually sitting on the left side of the plane.

^just incepted you, yea??? (Their business class may have you seated backwards)
We passed some interesting cloud patterns/layers climbing out of SEATAC.

Pleasant views at night… I was hoping that the Northern Lights would appear, but no dice on that…

The return flight was delayed a while due to typical London weather…

My goal was to stay up the whole flight to defend against jet lag… So I took some photos. Everything in this photo is wonderful.

^and thankfully updated in the 747-8i.

FACT: If you’re holding a camera in a galley, bored Flight Attendants will strike a pose for you. Also, Galleys are great.

I don’t have much to say about British food… but the Banoffee torte was fabulous:

We then passed over was Greenland:

Which is stunning

^I’m envious of the Captain’s view.

British slang lesson #1: If someone “just had a litter of kittens,” it means you scared them.
