Bratislava

The next day, we woke up at a reasonable hour, went into town, climbed up one of the towers of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and enjoyed the views.

Then, we caught a train to Bratislava! There was an immediate contrast. Vienna is like the Tokyo of Europe. Bratislava reminded me of Ulaanbaatar.

Complete with old Soviet era things

Actually, the town was pretty European… We got ice cream and walked around.

This vending machine only dispensed dairy products from some farm.

We walked up the hill to Bratislava Castle

I usually get scratched by cats. This cat was nicer.

View across the Danube, to the newer part of town.

It was pretty damn hot, so we went back to the city center…

Looking back, I don’t understand why we didn’t get Gelato a second time…

Actually, it was probably because we had a nice lunch.

Bratislava apparently has a really good club/bar nightlife, but we’re too old for that shit. We went back to Vienna, and to Neustifter Kirtag, which was basically a small street fair in town. Everyone dresses up in dirndls and lederhosen. We drank some wine, had a beer or two, listened to bad Euro-pop, watched drunk Austrians dance, ate some cheese filled sausages, a chicken, talked about things, and called it a night.
