So I feel like a lot of people hype up In-and-Out Burger. Animal Style? Pretty weaksauce IMO… I just don’t see the appeal.
Also, short business trips abroad. Not fun. This month’s trip had me departing on Monday morning, landing in Frankfurt on Tuesday morning; where we would go straight to meetings, and then fly back Friday. I guess the positives were that I probably wouldn’t get jet lag, I got two Fridays, and that I was on an atypical routing through DFW on AA metal. Thus, this entry is mostly about the flight, cuz there wasn’t any time to enjoy anything else…
Sittin’ on the LHS of a plane on morning flights out of SEA makes me happy
One more shot, just a bit closer…
OK, so at some point between 2016 and today, AA stepped up their game. I last flew them from LHR-LAX on their new 777-300ER and it was underwhelming. Below is a domestic flight breakfast. It was actually delicious, and I actually ate everything.
So the longhaul leg was on a retrofitted AA 777-200. I was expecting their old Zodiac seat, but surprisingly, this plane had the new B/E Super Diamond. Also retrofitted into this cabin was their 777-300ER door 2 entryway, and AIM bar units. Not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked.
^this is the same seat on Air Canada’s 787 fleet
Even the lead actor in VIP was impressed by the spread! Also, VIP is a pretty solid Korean thriller. Park Hoon-jung incorporated all the standard kThriller elements, such as a lot of sad and violent things, and an ending where no one wins.
Smoked salmon and cream cheese, fresh mozz, and capers?? wut is this, Lufthansa?!
^so the main course was actually really bad. But let’s just ignore that and appreciate the gains that AA has made.
Top notch dessert, cheese, and porto! Like, this is better than BA catering.
I slept the rest of the flight and woke up in time for the sunrise
We landed, got our rental, and drove out to Herborn. We dropped our luggage off, and got some breakfast before heading to the meetings. Here’s my all time fav house in Herborn
After 3 days of meetings, we left. Here’s neat view on the descent to LHR
